Who you are dealing with
Clay has spent more than twenty years working on domestic electrical jobs across Adelaide and the surrounding suburbs — the everyday work that keeps houses running rather than the big commercial contracts. Repairs, switchboards, fans, lighting, power points, rewires.
CDElectrical is deliberately small. There are no subcontractors and no office staff, so the person who takes your call is the person who turns up, does the work and sends the invoice. That makes the business slower to scale and much harder to hide behind, which is the point.
How Clay works
- A fixed price before anything starts. Quotes are free, and the number you agree to is the number on the invoice.
- Plain English, not jargon. You get told what actually needs doing, what can wait, and what is fine as it is.
- On time, or you hear about it. If the previous job runs long, you get a call rather than an empty driveway.
- Work to AS/NZS 3000. The Australian wiring rules are the baseline, not the target.
- The place left tidy. Drop sheets down, mess vacuumed, switch plates put back square.
Why a one-person business suits domestic work
Most household electrical jobs are small, and small jobs are where larger outfits struggle. A call-out gets passed to whichever apprentice is free, nobody has seen the house before, and the person who quoted it is not the person holding the screwdriver.
Running a single-van business means fewer jobs in a week, but it also means the context travels with the work. If Clay upgraded your board two years ago, he remembers the house when you ring about a light that has started flickering.
It also means honest availability. CDElectrical works Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm. If something cannot be done this week, you will be told that rather than strung along.
